ECL S52 Cup 3 Day 5 recap: Iowa Stormboar eliminate DETONATE, Overtake Sector take out regain
Two lower bracket matches made up the fifth day of play.

ESL Challenger League Season 52 Cup 3 is coming down to the business end, as the lower finals matchup has been set.
The lower bracket semifinals took place yesterday, with Iowa Stormboar defeating DETONATE in a three-map series, while Overtake Sector also needed all three maps to take down regain in the lower bracket.
The first map between Iowa Stormboar and DETONATE was an absolute marathon on DETONATE's Nuke pick. After both teams could be separated in regulation, it took three overtimes before Iowa Stormboar eventually emerged as 22-19 winners. In the losing effort, Milan "CrePoW" dropped an insane 92 frags for DETONATE.
DETONATE would bounce back on Stormboar's Mirage pick, winning the map 13-8 without too much trouble to even up the series 1-1.
The final map was another very tight affair. DETONATE took a slight 7-5 edge after their CT side on Cache. Iowa Stormboar answered back to force overtime, eventually winning the map 16-14 in CS:GO -style behind Nazar "H0NeST" Stefinko's 37-frag performance and taking the series 2-1.
The first map in this series Overtake Sector's Mirage pick, and they immediately put the screws to regain. After taking a 10-2 lead into the halftime break, Overtake Sector won the map 13-7 to give themselves a 1-0 lead.
regain looked like they would be the victims of a quick 2-0 sweep, as Overtake Sector quickly seized the advantage on regain's Inferno pick. After falling behind 8-4 on the T side, regain stormed back on the CT side, winning the final eight rounds to take the map 13-11 and tie the match at 1-1.
The decider was on Ancient, and this would be the most back-and-forth map of the series. Overtake Sector managed to take a 7-5 edge after their T side, eventually taking a 12-7 lead early in the second half. regain fought back on their own T side, but it wasn't enough. Overtake Sector held on to win 13-10 and move on to the lower bracket final v. Iowa Stomboar.
