With the Singapore Major invite cutoff looming, Wildcard have made significant strides in the race for a spot from the Americas region.
Wildcard have won FRAG University 2026, taking down NRG once and DENDELE twice on their way to the trophy and $13,750 in prize money.
The international squad showed stiff resolve on their run to the final, battling through overtime maps against NRG and DENDELE en route to a BO5 bout with DENDELE , who made the final via the lower bracket.
Wildcard benefitted from a 1-0 advantage in the grand final as they came from the upper bracket, and that advantage proved vital as they contested a hard-fought game with DENDELE . The first three maps were one-sided for either team, DENDELE taking Mirage and Inferno whilst Wildcard bagged Nuke, sending the series to a decider on Anubis.
On Anubis strong T-side starts gave way to CT comebacks for both teams, Nemanja "nEMANHA" Đukić and João "koala" Pfeffer each standing head and shoulders above their teammates in terms of impact as the map went to OT. There Wildcard had the last laugh, posting a flawless three-round CT half to secure the title.
By winning the trophy and securing valuable wins over fellow Major chasers NRG and DENDELE , Wildcard have seen their chances at securing a PGL Major Singapore rocket upwards, going from 33% from before the final day of play to 70% according to HLTV's projections. NRG meanwhile exited the tournament in fourth place and saw their Major hopes take a dent, going from comfortable odds to a 61% chance.
Wildcard 's next confirmed event is FiRe Last Chance , an event that will prove impactful in the race for Singapore qualification for both Europe and the Americas regions. Wildcard , Ninjas in Pyjamas , 100 Thieves and GamerLegion are all slated to attend, and top-four finishes for any of them will prove a significant boon with the Major invite cutoff looming.
