An amateur astronomer harnessed artificial intelligence agents to find a previously undiscovered exoplanet lurking in publicly available data.

Pavel Rabtsevich, a Spain-based product manager and a space science hobbyist, was poring over data collected by NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), an exoplanet-hunting space telescope, when he noticed something odd. TESS looks for the subtle dimming caused by planets transiting, or passing in front of, their stars.
