Not every concert film gets the kind of rollout that “ Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall ” is enjoying this fall — direct-to-streaming releases are far more common than 35mm roadshows these days. But they don’t all have a figure like Geese frontman Cameron Winter as their subject and a filmmaker like Paul Thomas Anderson directing. Throw in the fact that “Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall” also boasts Benny Safdie as a producer (and camera operator!), and it’s not hard to see why cinephiles and music geeks alike are dying to see it.
